If you have a brain that’s always on the go, you already know sometimes it doesn’t exactly… cooperate.
It’s more like a chaotic group chat where every thought is talking at the same time and no one is staying on topic. And somehow, in the middle of all that noise, you’re expected to answer emails, meet deadlines, and remember where you put your keys.
I call this the overactive brain starter pack, starting strong with: the assignment that’s been sitting there, haunting you.
You know it’s due. You’ve thought about it all day. It’s literally taking up space in your brain like a pop-up you can’t close. And yet… you just can’t start it. For no reason. Until suddenly, hours (or minutes) later, you sit down, do it in 10 minutes, and wonder why it felt impossible in the first place.

Time management? Don’t even go there. “Mom, I swear I set an alarm every 15 minutes to stay aware of time passing!!” And somehow, you still end up either 40 minutes early or running out the door like your life depends on it. Or maybe you got ready extra early and decide to treat yourself. You put on a random YouTube video that was supposed to cover the 15 extra free minutes and suddenly, you are watching random videos on your phone and are an hour late.
And then there are the “little” things. The kind of stuff that is so easy to do but so hard to actually start. Like that pile of laundry sitting on your chair. I think my chair has seen more clothes than my closet at this point and I’m not even that mad about it. I think about putting it away every day, but at this point, it’s basically part of the furniture. Some call it a mess, I call it organized chaos. It has a personality.

Now for me, the thing that my brain simply cannot process is answering text messages. I swear it haunts me every day and it probably will until I decide to throw my phone away. Because why does replying to a simple message feel like such a high-stakes situation? It’s like there’s no difference between being held at gunpoint and having to text back “haha yeah.” The pressure is unreal.
And for my fellow “brain always on the go” people, maybe it’s time you update your profile bio to “Only text if important, in-person messages are welcome!” I know that has saved me a few unnecessary replies

Because living like this means your brain is always exploring, always connecting random dots, always finding something new to focus on for a while. One day you’re learning about marine life and the next week you’re learning how to crochet. It’s messy, it’s unpredictable, but it’s also kind of brilliant.
So yeah, maybe you have 47 tabs open. But at least it’s never boring.
